Philadelphia, PA January 2010 - Beginning in 2010 Greenskeeper made the LATE SUMMER SERVICE a regular part of our yearly lawn care program. This service will be performed during the months of July and August.
 
Why?
We found that a number of invasive weeds were cropping up on our lawns at a time when we want our lawns to look their best. There’s more outside activity in July and August than at any other time. When you’re outside for that backyard barbeque, picnic, pool party or just hanging out on the patio, we want you to enjoy the same perfect, weed free lawn that you have the rest of the year.

Yellow Nutsedge (left), Spurge (center), and Oxalis (right) are just a few of the weeds that appear at the end of the summer. There’s no good way to prevent them so we need to be there to eliminate them.
 
Why now?

Until recently, there was no good way to take care of these summer annuals. Today we have a number of safe and effective materials that will not only remove these weeds from your lawn, but will also help prevent them from ever appearing again. To put it simply, it’s finally “worth it” to make the extra trip to your lawn.

What else?

While we’re there we’ll be looking for some of the other problems that tend to arise in late summer. Surface insects like Chinch Bug, will alter when they appear based on temperature and rainfall. We’ll be on the lookout for there pests and stop them in their tracks. We’ll also check for any of the many lawn diseases that love the warm weather and deal with them as needed.
